How to assign a hotkey to launch a program

I want to start my browser, calculator or any other program with a single keyboard shortcut, even when no window is focused. How do I assign a global hotkey?

Use the Hotkeys feature in Comfort Keys Pro.

  1. Open the Keyboard Shortcuts Settings window.
  2. Click in the Key combination field and press the key combination you want to use, for example Ctrl+Alt+B for the browser.
  3. In Action type, choose Run program.
  4. Browse to the executable file (or paste a path / URL). Optionally specify command-line arguments and a working folder.
  5. Save the settings.

The hotkey is registered globally. It works from any application, even from full-screen games, and there is no limit on the number of hotkeys you can create. You can group hotkeys into profiles (Work, Home, Gaming) and switch profiles with another hotkey or automatically per active application.
