How to back up and restore clipboard history

Software: Comfort Clipboard Pro, Comfort Keys Pro

I keep important fragments in my clipboard history (passwords templates, code snippets, links). How do I back them up and move them to a new computer?

The whole clipboard history of Comfort Clipboard Pro is stored in a single folder. Backing it up is just copying that folder.

  1. Open the main context menu and select Settings > Clipboard Manager. The path is shown in the Data directory field.
  2. Close the application (right-click the tray icon → Exit) so the data is flushed to disk.
  3. Copy the entire data directory to your backup location (external drive, cloud folder, NAS).

To restore on the new computer:

  1. Install Comfort Clipboard Pro on the target PC and run it once so the data folder is created, then exit it.
  2. Replace the new Data directory with the copy from your backup.
  3. Start the application — the full history, favourites and folders appear immediately.

Tip: point Data directory to a folder inside Dropbox, OneDrive or Google Drive to keep the history synchronised between several computers automatically.
