How to use AutoText and text expansion to type faster

I retype the same blocks all day: e-mail signature, postal address, support reply templates. Can I expand a short abbreviation into a long block of text?

Yes — use the Templates feature in Comfort Keys Pro.

  1. Open Settings > Text Templates and press Add.
  2. Type a short abbreviation in the Name field, for example sgn1 or addr.
  3. Paste the full text in the Content field. Multi-line text, formatted text and even images are supported.
  4. Save and close the window.

From now on, whenever you type the abbreviation in any application, it is replaced with the full block. You can also bind the same template to a hotkey or to a custom on-screen keyboard key, so you can paste it from a touchscreen or from the keyboard launcher window.

Combine templates with placeholders such as <DATE>, <TIME> or <CLIPBOARD> to build replies that adapt to the current context.
